Professional & Reliable Removal Company

A Day in the Life of a London Removals Team Member

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when you hire a removals company? For most people, moving is a one-off or occasional event, but for our team, it’s a daily routine — and no two days are ever the same. Here’s a little look into what a typical day is like for one of our removals crew members at London Removals.

6:30 AM – Kettle On, Boots Laced

The day starts early. While most of the city is still hitting snooze, we’re already at the depot with a coffee in hand and a list of jobs ahead. There’s a quick catch-up with the team — usually filled with a few laughs — followed by vehicle checks and making sure we’ve got all the gear: trolleys, straps, blankets, toolkits, and sometimes even a box of biscuits (the real essentials!).

8:00 AM – First Job of the Day

We pull up outside the first house of the day. It could be a flat on the 5th floor, a big family home, or even a small office move — every day is different. We introduce ourselves to the client, have a quick chat about what’s moving where, and then it’s straight into action.

9:00 AM – The Real Work Begins

Boxes start stacking up fast. Some jobs need packing help too, so we carefully wrap dishes, frames, and fragile items. You get pretty good at judging which box will hold what — a sort of removals sixth sense. Heavy furniture? That’s teamwork. We’ve all developed our own little ways of lifting things efficiently without breaking our backs (or the client’s favourite side table!).

12:30 PM – On the Move

Once everything’s loaded up and secured in the van, we head off. London traffic doesn’t always make this easy, but after a few years on the road, you learn all the back routes. If we’re lucky, we’ll grab a quick bite or a coffee between stops. Sometimes, clients offer a cup of tea — always appreciated.

1:30 PM – Unloading at the New Place

Now comes the unpacking. Everything is placed exactly where the client wants it — sometimes that means navigating tight stairs or odd-shaped hallways, but we always find a way. We also help set up larger items — beds, desks, wardrobes — and by the end, it starts to feel like a home again.

4:00 PM – Finishing Touches

Before we leave, we do a final sweep with the client to make sure they’re happy, nothing’s missing, and everything is in the right place. There’s often a bit of friendly banter, and sometimes even a heartfelt thank-you — and that makes the whole day worth it.

5:30 PM – Back to Base

We return to the depot, unload our gear, clean the van, and prep for the next day. There’s usually a bit of chatting about the day’s funniest or toughest moments — and then we’re off home, ready to do it all again tomorrow.
