Doing packing yourself during a move and driving a rental truck is one of the best ways to save on your move. Especially in trying financial times like these, it's important to always be on the lookout for ways you can save those extra bucks. Sure, you can always hire somebody to help you, but it will cost more, and frankly, if you can do it yourself, why not, right? A bit of exercise won't hurt and you'll be better off for it.
One of the things to remember when packing your things into a moving truck is to have the heaviest at the bottom as long as nothing in these boxes or packages is fragile, they're the best to support the weight of other lighter boxes. Of course, it goes without saying that you should always take care of fragile items, and make sure that they are located in a safe part of the van or truck where they won't be exposed to undue damage or get fallen over by heavier things. Also, it's important the inside of your fragile boxes especially should have protection like bubble wrap and packing peanuts to minimize any damage and stress that your breakable items might suffer from, especially when you're on the road.
